Lee Geum Hee (1966)

Lee Geum Hee is a South Korean broadcaster and TV personality. She graduated from Dongmyeong Girls’ High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Ph.D. in Information and Broadcasting, both from Sookmyung Women’s University and a master’s degree in Broadcasting from Yonsei University.She made her debut in 1989 after passing the 16th open recruitment for announcers at KBS. Her father was a police officer, and her mother worked in the beauty industry, but the salary was not enough to sustain a family of 5 children, so her mother had to work several part-time jobs to help. In 4th grade, she attended a recording of a children’s show and decided she wanted to be an announcer.In 1987, she tried to enter KBS and MBC but failed both tests and opted to accept a special recruitment as a radio reporter but quit after 4 months out of exhaustion. She has worked for many years as a radio and TV host for many shows, and it is widely known as one of the best in the business.
